DRIPHT ON HOLD

Rock band Dripht has announced that it is on hold for an indefinate period.
Dripht added that this is not a split.

Bassist Fre will be leaving Malta. In the meantime, the other band members
are undertaking other commitments. Vocalist/Guitarist Nick Morales and
Guitarist Daniel Cassar are involved in a new musical project. Drummer Mike
Briguglio is involved in the comeback of metal band Norm Rejection, which
had released its last album, '0002', in 2000, and in another project with
former Dripht guitarist Patrick Galea. Details of all these musical projects
will be announced in the near future.

Dripht, which released the 'Dripht' and 'Global Warning' CDs in 2004 and
2005 respectively, would like to thank the Dripht crew (David Pisani, Jean
Carl Abdilla, Mikey Calleja and Jurgen Galea), Reciprocal Records, all fans,
music journalists, radio stations, DJs, concert organisers and venue hosts
who have supported the band throuought the years.

- We've returned from our 2 gigs in London, i.e. at The Boston Arms with Slovak band EXTIP, Lay Out the Traps and Heroic Doses; and at Upstairs at the Garage with None the Less, Second Class Stamp, ScratchCard Junkies and Guns at the Disco.

Gigs were small but cool. We had a good time!

Special thanks to Dripht crew member Jean Carl Abdilla for his constant assistance, to Mario Morales, Active Travel, Victor Cassar for helping making this possible and last but not least to Chris De Souza Jensen for hosting us! Also cheers go to Supka, Matt and Sebby for the support and the guys from Punchpuppet and Lay Out the Traps, Tuberats and Stefan,... Photos and clips to be uploaded soon.

December, despite the lack of updates here, was quite an eventful for Dripht.. As you many of you might already know, Dripht were nominated for two categories at the Bay Music Awards, namely "Best Band" and "Best Single of All Time" - we thank Bay Radio for honouring us with the nominations and inviting us to the Awards ceremony, also many many and many thank for all who voted for us (Special thanks goes out to a certain Ruth from Mgarr ;) ) and congratulate the winners of the awards, Corkskrew and Winter Moods respecitvely for the categories mentioned previously and Ivan Filletti, Tenishia, and the guys who remixed Ira Losco's song.

Right after the Bay Awards, TAT gave three kick ass shows - on Thursday 8th a surprise acoustic teaser set at Naasha, Friday 9th at The Alley with Dripht and with a kick ass show from BNI, and on Saturday 10th @ Rookies with another super-ska-rythm-show from skankers I-SKAndal.. thanks to all the bands who made the nights quite memorable - but lest i not forget, a big thanks also to the audience who made it so much fun to play for and who gave quite a great warm welcome to Londoners TAT...

Later on in December we were invited by Fr. Mark Montebello to play at the CCF in Paola for the inmates of the juvenile section. We thank the inmates for the welcome and the encouragement they gave us, it was an honour for us to play, and hopefully we'll see some of you at our gigs soon. Cheers. Also we would like to thank Mark Montebello and his organisation for the invite and congratulate them for their work and support they give to the inmates.

Anyway, last year ended with a great month for Dripht, so it was opportune to hand out so many Thanks, after all, none of this would be possible without the support from all these people, and therefore it is apt to conclude with a big thanks to all who made 2005 such a great year for us, without you, we're nothing. As always, keep posted here for fresh and ska-tastic headlines throughout 2006 for Dripht, after all we do have a few tricks up our sleeves coming up. Cheers.

First of all... Festahwid 5 kicked ass and blew everyone away - Reciprocal Records really knocked themselves out this time - and all those present helped the atmosphere be what it was - great!
